Postdoc opportunities.
We are eager to host independent postdoctoral research fellows.  We can support interested applicants with idea development, application preparation, and interview preparation.

Topics we would be interested in supporting cover: agro-ecology, sustainable agriculture, integrated pest management, vector biology, the insect microbiome, endosymbiont-vector-virus-host interactions, and vector and virus surveillance.

Some funding schemes are listed below, but there are likely many other opportunities.
PhD Student Opportunities
We are happy to host PhD students in the team. We can work with students to develop ideas, prepare funding applications, and identify suitable university partners.

Some funding schemes are highlighted below:

    • Usual timeline: Applications open in summer, deadline for submission is October, candidates are shortlisted in December and interviewed in January. Successful applicants are expected to start in September/October.
  • The Department of Agriculture, Environment, and Rural Affairs (DAERA). DAERA provides funding for several PhD projects related to agri-food production in Northern Ireland. Topics of interest are released annually.  Students need to have been based in Northern Ireland for at least three years.
